Adjustable Beds

Electric adjustable beds are beds which can be adjusted electronically thru a remote control device to give the user the utmost comfort and convenience while lying in bed. This is most useful for people who cannot get up frequently to adjust their own beds and for those who are temporarily and permanently disabled. However, this may also be used by those without medical conditions in order to get the utmost comfort while lying in bed. We should realize that we spend a third of our whole life lying in bed. This is why we should pay attention to the kind of bed we are using and ensure that we get a good night’s sleep.

The electric bed can be adjusted electronically to fit the body structure and the particular needs of the user. The top portion of the adjustable bed can be raised while watching television or reading books and may be lowered to a comfortable level when sleeping. Similarly, the lower portion of the bed may be adjusted to put the legs, thighs and feet at a comfortable position.

There are also electric adjustable beds available in the market which are temperature sensitive. It responds to one’s natural body temperature by softening at areas where the temperature and consequently the pressure is higher.

Electric adjustable beds provide relief in a variety of health problems caused by today’s active lifestyle. Some of these are: backaches, hip and shoulder discomfort, neck pain, gastric acid reflux, breathing problems caused by cough or flu, arthritis, varicose veins and other discomforts. It also helps improve blood circulation in the legs when the lower portion of the bed is raised, thereby relieving aches in the legs, ankles and feet.

These electric adjustable beds now come in designs similar to regular beds. If one is not comfortable sleeping in a bed that looks like the typical hospital bed, there are several electric adjustable beds available now in the market that look like our regular conventional beds.
