Adjustable Beds: What You Need

Posted on October 26th, 2007 in Information by admin

EASY OPERATION – It’s extremely frustrating – and not to mention downright irritating – when the manufacturer and retailer both promises you that a product you’re about to purchase is very easy to assemble, install and operate but the moment you get home and start at it, you find out the instructions might as well be written in Greek – or Arabic, if you actually know how to read Greek.

When you go shopping for an adjustable bed, you have to make sure that when the words EASY ASSEMBLY are stamped all over the box, it’s the Bible’s truth. And you find this out by asking the manufacturer or retailer to assemble it before your very eyes.

Watch carefully each step they take and if you find something that confuses you, don’t hesitate to ask. The moment you buy the adjustable bed and it turns out to be as complex as the Rubic’s cube, you’re sure to be relegated to the waiting list for days before an able technician will be sent down to help you assemble your adjustable bed.

FINGERTIP ADJUSTABILITY – The logic behind this feature is unquestionable. The adjustable bed is for sleeping, isn’t it? Now, do you think a person who’s sleeping or just about to sleep will be able to find the needed effort to stand up just to fix the adjustment or angle of the bed? No, right? None of us likes getting up when we’re in the middle of our sleep and this is all the more true for the elderly and the sick.

MOTOR – Let’s say you’re not sleeping alone in your adjustable bed and you wake up, wanting to adjust the measurement, angle or fold of your adjustable bed. Surely, you wouldn’t want to wake up your partner? Remember, hell hath no fury like a person rudely awakened and all that.

If that’s the case, then make sure that the adjustable bed you’re about to purchase comes with a very quiet motor. That way, when you start adjusting, your partner wouldn’t be disturbed with roaring noise. Make sure also that the motor comes with a rechargeable battery just in case there are power failures. Oh, and check if the battery comes with a warranty, too. It has to!

BUILT-IN MASSAGE – People who purchase adjustable beds are those usually with back pains or ones with aching joints. These people are in constant or regular need for massages. With an adjustable bed, you won’t have to pay a professional masseuse $75 an hour just to soothe your pain away. There are adjustable beds that come with built-in massages.
