What To Look For In Adjustable Beds
Okay, I know what you’re thinking. You’re probably thinking that you still don’t need an adjustable bed and wouldn’t so for years because you’re still in your prime. Adjustable beds are for hospitals and besides that, most adjustable beds you’ve seen are extremely ugly to look at so no way would you let such a contraption inside your house!
But now, that’s where I tell you you’ve got it all wrong. Not all adjustable beds have to be ugly. Naturally, what you see in the hospital is an exception. In a hospital, they wouldn’t care whether the adjustable bed they let the patient sleep on looks beautiful or not. All they care about of course is that the adjustable bed can provide as much comfort to the patient as possible. But since you’re not in a hospital, nothing should stop you from getting an adjustable bed that’s not only good for your body but also good for the eyes. The most obvious advantage in purchasing and using an adjustable bed is that it alleviates stress or pressure from your body and supports the curves of your spine. And believe me, no one’s too young or too old to experience that kind of comfort.
If you’re convinced about the merits of purchasing an adjustable bed for your home, here are the things that you should look for.
MATTRESS MATTERS – While we’re at the subject of adjustable beds, let me clarify one thing: it’s really the base that’s adjustable and not the bed or mattress per se. Now, even so, that doesn’t mean you should disregard what type of foam or mattress you’ll be using and you should only be interested in what features does the adjustable bed has. Not at all. It’s equally important to make sure that the mattress will be able to match the movements of the adjustable base. When you use the adjustable base and fold it to a certain angle, you want a mattress or bed that conforms easily to the same angle. When shopping for a mattress then, try it out always with an adjustable base. Several types of mattresses are known to work well with adjustable bases, such as air beds and memory foams. If however you’re simply looking for a conventional coil foam mattress, there are not many of those that are designed to be used with adjustable bases.
WARRANTY MATTERS – Naturally, when purchasing any mechanical contraption, warranty always matters! You have to make sure that the warranty lasts as long as ten to twenty years.
