When to Get A New Mattress
A mattress is an important in getting the best sleep possible. If we are not able to find the right kind of mattress we are in for very long nights. The long nights will seem to be going on a gym while sleeping. It would be good if it actually helps us lose weight, but instead, we experience a total stress when we wake up in the morning.
That’s why when we eventually find the best mattress for our body, it seems too hard to let go. The mattress may be already old and sagging but we still refuse to get a new one. The mattress may be as old as we are, but because of our love for it, we tend not to let go.
Here are some signs and answers that tell us when exactly to let go of that old mattress of ours.
The average lifespan of a mattress is really 8 to 10 years. Imagine the mattress being slept at for 8 hours a night for 10 years. It will be used then for about 30,000 hours in the span of over 10 years. If you think that your mattress still hasn’t suffered from you for that long of a period you might want to think again.
You will also need to factor in such things such as gaining weight, or having foreplay at the bed will also affect its lifespan. If you still continue to use your mattress who has been logging over 30,000 hours of work, the mattress will have deteriorated comfort features and support capabilities diminished.
However, you wouldn’t want to wait that long either just to replace your mattress. If the mattress has been giving you constant back pains and you’re not waking up refreshed or rejuvenated you may want to change your mattress. I’m going to be you’re number 1 fan, if you do manage to live up with that mattress for 8 years with the pain it provides.
When the couch is suddenly becoming more comfortable than your bed, it may be time to get a new mattress. There are some exceptions though, when your wife just forced you to sleep on the couch. When there are coils or bumps in the mattress it will not provide you with the comfortable sleep surface.
When the mattress really looks like a disaster piece, it may be time to replace it. Try to see if the mattress is looking uneven, worn, frayed and has sags and imprints. If it does have those, it’s time to shop. To prolong the lifespan and get the best performance, rotate the mattress occasionally. If you can not rotate the mattress, it’s ok if you’d be the one to rotate.
If a family member or a friend has given you a mattress, why do you think he or she gave the mattress in the first place?? Don’t sleep on it, give it to someone else too and buy a new one.
Finally, don’t abuse your mattress. Take care of it and love it to prolong it’s lifespan.
